OUR HISTORY

SPIRIT OF DANCE

Spirit of Dance was founded in 1999, under the direction of Lori Ann Nelson, and is currently entering its 23rd year of operation. The studio hosts 3 spacious studios, a private party room for birthdays, a waiting room for parents and students, a kitchen and tuck shop.

The studio offers early dance education (ages 10 months-5 years), recreational (6 and up), competitive (4 and up) and adult classes. Our repertoire of classes include: Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Lyrical, Modern, Hip-Hop, Contemporary, Pointe, Musical Theatre, Acro, Kinderdance and Dance Tots & Tumble. Our focus is on teaching proper dance technique, discipline and self-confidence, while still encouraging children to have fun.

Spirit of Dance offers many exciting opportunities for children to perform both locally and internationally. These excursions have included: World Junior Baseball Opening Ceremonies, Disney World (Orlando), Sea World (Orlando), Dance the World parades at Walt Disney World, Nassau, Bahamas, Chicago, Wisconsin Dells, Texas, Minneapolis, and Toronto. During these dance events, we have been blessed to partake in a variety of workshops, and have our students receive a number of scholarships to attend classes in New York, Chicago and Los Angeles.
